- Geilo — 1 night
- Flåm — 2 nights
- Voss — stop en route
- Bergen — 2 nights
The stops
- 1
Oslo
The Opera House roof-walk and the new Munch museum, then west into the mountains.
- 2
Geilo
Mountain-resort overnight at the edge of the Hardangervidda — moose territory begins here.
- 3
Flåm
Deep in Aurlandsfjord: ride the famous railway up, cruise the UNESCO Nærøyfjord, and drive the Stegastein viewpoint bend.
- 4
Voss
Extreme-sports capital between two fjords — a coffee stop, or a paraglide if you're wired that way.
- 5
Bergen
Bryggen's wooden wharf, the fish market, and the Fløibanen funicular for the seven-mountains view. Pack a raincoat; wear it proudly.
Good to know
This is a summer route — Aurlandsfjellet's 'Snow Road' and the high plateau are properly open June–September. Norwegian tolls are automatic by plate (hire cars bill you later). The Flåm railway and a Nærøyfjord cruise both leave from Flåm — budget a full day. Fuel and food cost Norwegian prices; picnic like the Norwegians do.
