- Antwerp — 1 night
- Ghent — 1 night
- Bruges — 1 night
- Paris — 2 nights
The stops
- 1
Amsterdam
Rent a bike, not a car, for the last city day — then collect the car and slip south.
- 2
Antwerp
Rubens, diamonds and the most beautiful railway station in Europe; the fashion district rewards an afternoon.
- 3
Ghent
Bruges' edgier sister — the Van Eyck altarpiece by day, illuminated canals by night, students keeping it honest.
- 4
Bruges
Yes it's touristy; at 7 am on the Rozenhoedkaai you'll understand why. Climb the Belfry before the queue forms.
- 5
Paris
Arrive, park for good, and let the city take over.
Good to know
Dutch, Belgian and French motorways are all toll-free on this line (France's tolls start south of Paris). Bruges hotels inside the egg-shaped centre let you own the town after 6 pm. Don't drive into central Paris — drop the car at your final hotel or a Périphérique park-and-ride.
